On May 2, 2009, Organization members, their families and friends gathered for a picnic/meeting combo.
Yes even dear their dear leashed pets were welcome and joined in the fun.
The day began at 11:00 am with a brief meeting at the Pavillion followed by a picnic from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Open picnic sites with tables and grills were available, as well as a spacious shelter complete with a massive
stone fire place and plenty of seating. Some brought their own lunch while others indulged in roasted hotdogs
grilled to the satisfaction of all!
Members also brought with them two cans of non-perishable food items which were donated to the “Working
for Change Food Drive” sponsored by a group who meet at the Orchard House Booksellers in Smithfield and
whose primary purpose is to promote an ongoing local food drive.
The highlight of the afternoon was the raffle of some exciting prizes as well as a 50/50 raffle. Prizes
included:
